A LETTER TO MY CHILD* ✍🏼 Words for you to r A LETTER TO MY CHILD*

✍🏼 Words for you to read when you’re older:

🌷 Regardless of how you came into my world, via surrogacy, IVF, my womb, adoption, when you did, I knew you were worth waiting for. This moment brought me to my knees humbled that God should entrust you in my care. What an honour to journey with you as your mother.

🌷 May you know that long before we met, I held you in my heart, your name departing my lips in my prayer chamber. Everything I spent time on - delighting in the mundane, homemaking, loving your father, and being brave was to set the firm foundation of a Love Home for you.

🌷 When I work and build my small business from the ground up, I’m motivated by the legacy I will leave you - you won’t start from scratch like I did but have a solid brick to build upon and I know you’ll be far braver than I ever was.

🌷When you’re older, take the light within you and pass it on as a torch to light up someone else’s life. Us shining is never meant for our own, but to be shared.

*written as a non-mom. I know many among you are waiting, longing, yearning for a child. Perhaps you will have one to care for, or perhaps you won’t. Either way, I hope it brings you comfort that even in the waiting, you’re free to express love through writing for your future child. I wrote letters for my husband before I even knew of his existence, and today look at us slow travelling the world 😉. Words bring life to dreams.

Ramblings from my heart to yours: With the curren Ramblings from my heart to yours:

With the current season we're navigating, I'm hearing a lot of frustration and uncertainty from many. If that's you too, here are my compassionate ramblings for you.

YOU ARE ON A JOURNEY... (you already know this).

As you exited the womb and made it into the world, your journey continued. The journey of LIFE begun before then, and here we are - blooming, becoming, and being.

You reading my words right this very moment is not random. I'm often inspired to write so it meets you where you are, which is now. In this moment of your journey through life.

Today as you read this, I want you to know that:

🍑It's perfectly OK to miss him/ her. Even if you don't want them back. You're allowed to miss the memory of the good times and the love once shared.

🍑 The tears you cried on the bathroom floor, and into your pillow hoping no one would hear you, they were not in vain. They helped your heart release so it doesn't overflow with sadness.

🍑The ones who hurt you, who humiliated you, who robbed you of your confidence, they were hurting so much that they couldn't bear your light, so they tried to crush you. Forgive them.

🍑The times you think you failed, the mistakes you made - you were a conduit through which they took a new form: they bloomed into lessons, wisdom, and nuggets to pass on to people you'll meet on your journey.

🍑The plans of tomorrow are good to make but don't cling onto them. Stay flexible and a bit detached so you're free to dance, twirl, U-turn and move with the wind.

🍑It's OK to be a walking contradiction right now - wanting to do so much while not wanting to do anything at all.

Surrender to the journey... and if you need a guide, I'm never far.

Bisous,
Bea 🌷
What’s the snowball effect in your life? ❄️ What’s the snowball effect in your life? ❄️

The snowball effect is a metaphor for something that starts off small and gains in size, significance, or seriousness at a fast rate. The outcome can either be a VICIOUS or VIRTUOUS circle.

Take a minute to ponder the times when you’ve had this and what the outcome was.

In my own life, I’ve had both (you probably do too):

1) VICIOUS CIRCLE 😫

A lack of boundaries that turned disastrous at work and with my relationships; or not understanding my attachment style leading to toxic relationships with a lot of heartache.

2) VIRTUOUS CIRCLE 🥰

Undivided attention at the right time towards a person or project which led to a beautiful partnership (my marriage, and my blooming business); or my digital marketing strategy, being visible online authentically sharing my message since 2006, blogging and patiently checking keywords for my SEO growth, which now means I can intentionally relax and work less hours while gaining more money.

🔓 Let’s unlock your virtuous circle too.

🌿 build yourself a reservoir from the small drops of joy in your quotidian

🌿 create intentional content that your business growth will thank you later for (the beauty of repurposing & traffic)

🌿 invest in genuine relationships without seeing a money sign 💰 on every person’s forehead but rather what YOU can bring them and how YOU add value

🌿 love your body by eating well, hydrating, sleeping peacefully, and guarding your thoughts

🌿 fill your tank spiritually ensuring every act, every thought, every word is from an overflow of love

What you do today in small doses, what you focus on, can have a snowball effect to create the virtuous circle towards a life of freedom, beauty, and harmony.

Start.

Gather snow.
Gather slow.
Watch it grow!
It’s been raining heavily here in Bath 🇬🇧 It’s been raining heavily here in Bath 🇬🇧 along with strong winds which remind me of my stay in Geneva🇨🇭(pictured above). Today, as I couldn’t go out for a walk - oops I mean “outdoor exercise” 😬, I wandered to my other favourite place: MY MIND.

I begun reflecting on life and what it means to be a digital nomad in this current season of flattening the curve and praying the R rate drops further.

Living and working abroad & slow travelling and moving countries more often than I get a haircut have been part of the chapters of my story for the past 18 years. Now made sweeter with the addition of a protagonist who fulfills the roles of husband, geek, chef and Health and Safety officer (thanks to him I have travel insurance, an umbrella, and sunscreen - essentials apparently).

It’s been equally fun and faith-testing to continue nomad living (especially in the midst of a pandemic), given the limits to our freedom.

Whilst I’m grateful and aware of our privilege, some things have changed - our destinations now depend on borders being open, available flights, and which country would allow us in. All only known a few days before departure. A date which is also so very uncertain.

Therefore, my thoughts lately have been veering towards whether to settle down for a bit, and if so where would be best for us. A home base, I tell myself.

Home - 4-letter word, yet one could write four volumes about it. To me, it’s not where I’m born or where I buy a house (if ever). It’s where I see myself living (and blooming) day after day.

When described this way, home has been all those places on my slow travel journey - everywhere I’ve been as well as right where I am today.

Listening to the rain filling the River Avon and the Kennet and Avon Canal on either side of my bedroom location. 🏡 Home, one might say. And it even comes with a garden and a visiting cat.

How is the pandemic affecting your thoughts or future plans?

🕊 Do you like what you see in the mirror? Toda 🕊 Do you like what you see in the mirror?

Today I’d love to address confidence.

If you sometimes struggle to be visible, if you get uncomfortable when the camera points at you, or if you’re afraid to share your story or opinion with others (including your team members and coworkers), or live out as the real you, you probably have a confidence issue.

It isn’t bad and in fact, to some extent we all go through lack of confidence. What if others reject us, what if we make a fool of ourselves, etc all valid to feel.

What I’ve learned so far is that the mirror simply reflects back what you see, think, and feel about yourself.

So if you’re seeing the flaws and thinking how you dislike them, and feeling down, let’s look closer & deeper, shall we?

Mirror, mirror you have no hold of me because my identity is secure in My Maker. 🤩 When you reconnect with your identity - the TRUE YOU - and make peace that you aren’t her or them or him but beautiful YOU, that’s when you taste freedom.

Do the work of being you, revel in your royal identity, rise to meet the full life ahead. It’s better than settling for who the world wants you to be, or says you ‘should be’.
